JLA Public Involvement is seeking a full-time program coordinator for work engaging the public on projects related to planning, transportation, water infrastructure, parks, and more. The right candidate will know some basics about public process and have a strong desire to serve the public in their work. Characteristics required of our coordinators: detail-oriented, problem-solver, ability to work with the public on contentious issues, ability to meet and respond to deadlines, and confidence under pressure (calm is appreciated, but it’s your confidence in yourself that shines even when you’re learning new skills).

General Responsibilities:
The Coordinator will work closely with Program Managers to track and implement public involvement strategy and workplans for large public projects and assist on several smaller projects. Duties include logistics, planning, and documentation of committees, public meetings and events; responding to and tracking public questions and comments; writing and distributing information materials (for mail, web, social media, display, media); and coordinating the daily activities to support public engagement efforts.
